A US company, retained by the Trade and Development Agency (TDA), retained one of the IPC members to assess the development of an international routing which would make use of the Port of Durres, in Albania. The study was carried out largely in Albania and indicated that performance at Durres needed to be improved if it was to fulfil its role in resolving the logistic problems of the area as well as a transport hub for the proposed routing from Europe to the Black Sea.
