PORT CONSULTANTS
Bill Hogg commenced his career in the oil and gas industries after obtaining a B.Sc. Degree in engineering working. He joined the Port of London Authority as a Senior Engineer in 1965, and was closely involved in the containerisation of the Port of Tilbury. He later joined Mersey Docks & Harbour Company and in 1980 was appointed Chief Engineer of the Port of Liverpool. He later took an appointment as Ports Director at Gray Mackenzie Overseas Ltd., with contracts at Port Rashid, Mina Saqr, Jeddah, Yanbu, Jubail and Aramco in Saudi Arabia, in addition to consulting projects in various parts of the world. When Inchcape withdrew from port activities in 1988, Bill Hogg was appointed as Engineering Services Manager with British Airports Authority at Heathrow Airport. In 1991 he returned to Liverpool as Managing Director of Portia Management Services Ltd., the Consulting division of Mersey Docks & Harbour Company. The company had port contracts in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Mozambique and Kenya, and the objective was to expand the number of contracts and consulting projects in a number of other countries. In 1994 Mr Hogg was appointed Director of the Port of Liverpool in addition to his Portia activities. Under his direction the port increased throughput, turnover and increased share holder value. He retired from Mersey Docks in 1999, set up his own company Port Consulting Services Limited, and has carried out consulting projects in India, Ghana, Turkey, Kenya, Mozambique, Madagascar, USA and U.K. CONTACT DETAILS:
