PORT CONSULTANTS
Following a career at sea on oil tankers and cross channel ro-ro ferries, Tom Drennan has spent the last 22 years in the ports industry in both marine operations and in the provision of consultancy services. A sound understanding of the dynamics of port marine operations was gained as a VTS Officer with the Port of London Authority (PLA), followed by 10 years managing a towage/port services company in London. Whilst with the PLA, Captain Drennan was one of the first candidates to gain (with distinction) the Nautical Institute Harbour Master’s Certificate in 1990. From 2000 until 2008, Tom Drennan was Marine Manager with port and harbour consultants Eagle Lyon Pope, before forming his own marine consultancy in July 2008. When new port projects are being planned, Tom Drennan considers the marine aspects of the project – what needs to be done for the ship? Inputs may include:

Tom Drennan is experienced in working as a sole appointee or as part of a group with other consultants at either his own offices, the client’s office, or on site. World-wide travel is often undertaken. Clients include:
