Ray Fenyoe has 35 years business consultancy experience in the road, rail, intermodal, and maritime transport industries, advising carriers, ports, equipment suppliers, financial institutions, and government bodies around the world.
Before establishing his own consultancy in 1985 he worked as an economist forecasting UK international trade volumes by commodity and mode for the National Ports Council (the UK Government’s port advisory body), and as consultant responsible for non-bulk markets such as containers and reefers for Drewry Shipping Consultants. Ray then founded and ran Containerisation International magazine’s consultancy arm before establishing his own specialist freight transport consultancy.

His assignments typically involved the development of business strategies based on market research results, the development of traffic or sales forecasts and scenarios utilising market research as a significant input to statistical modelling, and the consequent elaboration of financial and economic appraisals. Most such appraisals related to the provision of new port infrastructure. He has worked in the FSU and Eastern Europe as well as in China, India, Sri Lanka, the Middle East, North and Central America, and many western European countries.
His problem-solving approach to all his projects is strongly commercial, with an emphasis on robust and practical market-based analysis, and consultation with stakeholders, leading to imaginative and workable results and recommendations. This market and results-oriented approach was originally learned and applied during his seven years experience as a general industrial market research agency consultant.
